We are asking Leona Valley customers to conserve water as much as possible from Monday, Jan. 6, through Thursday, Jan. 9, as our surface water supplier Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency (AVEK) interrupts its supply to us due to repairs.
AVEK is making repairs to its one-million-gallon treated water storage tank that provides water to local users, including Cal Water customers. Repairs are expected to continue through March 7, so we ask that you also conserve through that time.
However, as we will not receive any water from AVEK from Jan. 6-9, we ask that you take greater conservation measures during these days, including stopping outdoor irrigation and using only as much water indoors as absolutely needed for health and safety. We will be closely monitoring our water supply for Leona Valley customers, which we also provide through groundwater wells and our own storage facilities, and we have operational contingency plans in place during this time.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation. Your conservation efforts will help us prevent any potential water service interruptions due to the reduced water supply.
If you have any questions, please call us at (661) 943-9001.
