Harris Reservoir Project Information
In December 2009, Cal Water began construction of the Harris reservoir. This project, along with recently completed pump upgrades, will improve water supply reliability, increase water pressure, and enhance fire protection for customers in Cal Water's Westlake district.
The project, located near the intersection of Sunnyhill Street and Heritage Place, involves demolishing a 4.0-million gallon storage tank and building a new one on the existing site. It began in November 2009 and is expected take approximately 15 months to complete.
Cal Water is committed to doing all we can to minimize the impact of the project on our neighbors. We selected the bidding contractor with the least disruptive demolition method and will limit the work to the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both Cal Water and its contractor are committed to meeting all dust and noise ordinances and minimizing construction traffic.
May update: The demolition phase is complete as we move into the construction phase. This negates the use of jackhammers and dramatically reduces noise levels around the construction site. We thank our neighbors for their continued support and patience.
If you have any concerns, questions, or issues, please call us at (805) 497-2757 and we will do our best to address them. We also invite you to contact us at dcancilla@calwater.com with your e-mail address if you would like to receive periodic project updates. Updates will also be posted on the project update page. In the meantime, we thank you for your patience as we complete this critical water system improvement.
Sincerely,
Don Jensen
