General Information

Cal Water's Visalia District was formed in 1927 with the purchase of the Visalia Water Company. Cal Water proactively maintains and upgrades its facilities to ensure a reliable, high-quality supply.

Visalia

We meet the needs of our valued Visalia-area customers with groundwater produced by 73 local wells.

Cal Water proactively maintains and upgrades its facilities to ensure a reliable, high-quality supply. In 2007 and early 2008, we installed 12,000 feet of ductile-iron water main on Mooney Boulevard, replaced 500 feet of main and services in other locations, added a hydrant on Carl Drive, and upgraded four other hydrants. During the last year, we also constructed three new wells and a treatment system. Construction of two 1-million-gallon storage tanks will begin later this year.

Mullen

We meet the needs of our valued Porterville-area customers with groundwater produced by one local well treated by ion exchange to remove perchlorate (a chemical used as the main ingredient of rocket fuel, safety flares, matches, fireworks, and Chilean fertilizer) and reduce nitrate.

Cal Water proactively maintains and upgrades its facilities to ensure a reliable, high-quality supply. We recently completed replacement of the entire distribution system to improve system reliability and fire protection capability.

Oak Ranch

We meet the needs of our valued customers served by the Oak Ranch water system with groundwater produced by three local wells.

Tulco

We meet the needs of our valued Tulare-area customers with groundwater that is produced by two local wells and treated with granular-activated carbon to remove dibromochloropropane (a soil fumigant used in farming).
