Visalia: Oak Ranch construction
August 17, 2010
Update: By the end of August, we will have completed construction inside the subdivision. Oak Ranch wells are currently supplying the new 12" water main, hydrants, and services until a bore under the Saint Johns river can be completed. We anticipate this bore and tie-in to be complete in late September or early October.
We would like to thank residents for their continued cooperation as we complete the project.

Dear Customer:
California Water Service Company (Cal Water) would like to make you aware of a construction project beginning in your area soon, potentially in mid- to late-April. Under the supervision of Cal Water, Big House Construction will be installing a new 12” water main starting just south of St. Johns River, proceeding north to Ave. 313, then heading east into the Oak Ranch subdivision. The construction area in the subdivision will be from Ave. 313 to part-way between Tower Road and Ranchero Road, and from the intersection of Tower Road at Ave. 313 south to Ave. 312. The existing 4” water main will be abandoned, and new domestic services and fire hydrants will be installed in the construction area.
Currently, the Oak Ranch community receives its water from three wells in the area. The pumps on these wells cycle on and off as system demand requires. Completing this project and connecting to the main Visalia system will give our customers stable pressure with increased reliability and fire protection.
The work will be done Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Our goal is to complete the project by August 1, 2010, weather permitting.
During construction, you may experience a brief disruption in water service. We will make every effort to provide advance notice of any service interruptions.
Please be aware that temporary asphalt will be in place until approximately 30 days after project completion. This time is necessary to allow the trench to become fully compacted so the road surface is smooth after permanent paving is completed.
To see where the work is taking place in the subdivision, refer to the highlighted area on the map.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you in advance for your patience. Project updates will be posted on this page. If you have any questions or we can be of further assistance, please call our Customer Center at (559) 624-1600.
Sincerely,
Tom Brassfield
Superintendent of Construction
